The biggest airshow in the Southern Hemisphere returned to Avalon in March and ZenithGroup, a Supply Chain collaboration founded by Glyde Metal Industries and Campagno Engineering, had the opportunity to attend this year’s Avalon Airshow, an Aerospace and Defence Exposition.
Trade Days at the Avalon Airshow
The Avalon Airshow 2023 Trade Day Program was held over three days prior to full public attendance, with a focus on presentations, conferences and symposia exploring the latest innovations in the aviation and aerospace industries which, since the release of the Australian Government Defence Strategic Review 2023 (DSR23), has changed defence strategy significantly.
Mark Wood (Glyde Metal) and Steven Ullness (Campagno) had the privilege of some time connecting with air industry leaders, suppliers and customers, using this opportunity to continue forging relationships.
The Avalon Airshow – a Global Affair
We believe that events like the Avalon Airshow (hosted by the AMDA Foundation Limited and formally known as the Avalon Aerospace and Defence Exposition) are essential for staying up-to-date with the latest aviation industry trends and connecting with potential partners and customers.
Representatives from the defence industry exhibited and presented, including Boeing, the Royal Australian Air Force, Lockheed Martin, BAE Systems Australia and the Department of Defence.

Industry Capability Delegate Day at the Avalon Airshow
On the Tuesday of the Avalon Airshow, the DMTC Ltd invited Mark and Steven to the Industry Capability Delegate Day. This event was held at the Victorian Government Chalet and featured guest speakers from industry, defence and government.
At the expo, we were impressed by the cutting-edge technology and equipment on public display, as well as the expertise and passion of our fellow industry professionals. It was a fantastic opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals, organisation members and companies who share our commitment to excellence and innovation.
The day was very informative, with a guided tour of the event space and introductions to the Primes exhibiting at this huge event – we were grateful for an invitation to experience this terrific day!
